Course Permission
The courses MthEd 276, MthEd 277, MthEd 377 and 378 all require special permission to add. The following are descriptions for how to obtain this permission and add these particular courses.
MthEd 276: In order to add this class, you must receive permission from the Department of Mathematics Education and from the Education Student Services Office. To do this, you must email 276@mathed.byu.edu
MthEd 277: Students must be formally admitted to the major (which happens in MthEd 276) before they can register for this course. The online registration checks to see if students have been admitted to the major as they try to register MthEd 277. If you have successfully completed MthEd 276 or an equivalent course in another teaching major but are still unable to register for MthEd 277, please email office@mathed.byu.edu
MthEd 377 and 378: These courses should be taken the last semester before student teaching. To be cleared to add MthEd 377, email Dr. Amy Tanner (atanner@mathed.byu.edu) with your Net ID or student ID number. To add 378, you must have a current background clearance flag. Note that you must take Mthed 378 concurrently with Mthed 377.
